Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
I AM A COMPLETE BEGINNER, HOW WILL I KNOW THIS WORKS FOR ME?
This was a question I pondered quite a bit when I started out in 2010. Coming from a strict Asian background, having only engineer friends, never socialized during my college years, and only having one girlfriend up to the age of 27, I wondered whether pickup is something you can actually learn. After going out every weekend for 2 months straight, I started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Fast forward 9 years later, 25000 approaches, 40 countries, 600 plus students, and hundreds of documented student pulls, I can confidently say the process works. You just have to put in the work.
WILL I GET MORE OUT OF A BOOTCAMP WHEN I BECOME DECENT OR INTERMEDIATE LEVEL FIRST?
This is a common fallacy most people have. Taking a bootcamp as a beginner yields far more results than trying to go from beginner to intermediate on your own. Just like in business, 95% of businesses fail as startups. Always focus on your next immediate steps instead of trying to figure out how to get from step 99 to 100 when you don't have a game plan from step 1 to 99. Don't worry about what you're going to do when you're decent when you aren't there yet. Most people have challenges getting over the initial hurdle, the habits, the pain period, the work ethics and all this happens at the beginner phase.
AM I TOO OLD OR TOO YOUNG FOR PICKUP COACHING?
Most of my clients range from 21 to late 50's. The beautiful thing about Vegas is that there is a diverse demographics of people in both geography and age. Because there are conventions, company events, high ticket sales, tables, and big spenders, it is not uncommon to see older men in clubs and most women are accustomed to seeing this. If you are on the older side, play to your strengths, wear a suit, play as the high status male. It is also common to see young guys at the club as well, a lot of people come for their 21st birthday.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR A BOOTCAMP?
What's most important is what you do AFTER a bootcamp, not before. You want to maintain what you've learned from a bootcamp and keep growing at the same level of trajectory. That's why there are follow up programs to ensure you stay on track. As far as preparation before the bootcamp, come well rested, have proper clothing attire, watch some documentaries on Vegas nightlife, venues, DJs, top restaurants, and most importantly come with an open mind and be ready to learn. Do not over-stress by reading a lot of pickup materials before the bootcamp! It is actually counter productive. You will learn everything in the field.
SHOULD I WAIT TILL I LOSE WEIGHT, FIX MY FASHION, FINISH MY BRACES OR OTHER COSMETIC CHANGES BEFORE TALKING A BOOTCAMP?
Most people want to fix everything except pickup skills because they want to reduce the number of rejections before they even START pickup. But the reality is rejections are inevitable and its not a big deal. If every girl liked every guy that went to talk to them, the world would be in overpopulation crisis. Instead, focus on the skill set and not the result or outcome. Take fitness for example. Working out and being physically sore has no impact on your verbal skills or practicing talking to people. At the end of the day, 90% of pickup is just being in enough social situations and knowing what to do. It has nothing to do with your aesthetics.
Most of these skill sets are complimentary and you want to work on them in parallel instead of one after another. If it takes you 2 years to get the muscles that you want and 2 years to learn pickup, doesn't it make sense to get both done in 2 years rather than doing it back to back and taking 4 years?
SHOULD I WAIT FOR A BETTER OR BUSIER MONTH BEFORE COMING TO VEGAS?
The average person can approach 10 to 20 girls per night. Even on a slow night, the venues in Vegas will have thousands of people and therefore, the limiting factor is the number of girls you can approach and not the venue or the time of the year. Do not lose months of progress because you want to wait for the "best time" to come to Vegas.
I'M TRYING TO CONVINCE MY FRIEND TO SIGN UP ON A BOOTCAMP WITH ME, SHOULD I WAIT FOR HIM?
If your friend's motivation is just as high and his timing works out, then great. However, in most scenarios, the friend is usually unsure or requires a lot of convincing. In this case, you got other problems to worry about, like your own progress and success! At the end of the day, learning pickup is a solo journey, do not let anybody slow down your progress.
SHOULD I TELL COWORKERS, FRIENDS, OR FAMILY THAT I AM IN VEGAS TAKING A BOOTCAMP?
Your coworkers and employees only care about whether or not you generate a profit for the company so telling them that you're going on a vacation in Vegas to learn how to meet women is NOT something you should say. Instead, say you're taking some personal time off or that you're visiting family. When it comes to friends and family, most will not understand why you want to do this and will likely hold you back and therefore you shouldn't tell them either. Growing up in a traditional Asian family and having a lot of engineering friends, I could personally relate to this. When I embarked on my own pickup journey, I told nobody.
